This hot chocolate is bold, boozy and unapologetically delicious.

The mix

+150 mL full cream milk*
+ 1 heaping Tb drinking chocolate (we like Grounded Pleasures)
+ ¼ tsp arrowroot powder
+ 30 mL Larrikin Raspberry Drop Pink Gin
+ Pinch of salt
+ Garnish: whipped cream, shaved chocolate, crushed raspberry drops

*For an extra decadent treat, substitute 50mL of the milk for 50mL pouring cream

The make

  • Add the milk to a saucepan over medium-low heat. Heat gently until steaming.
  • Whisk in the drinking chocolate, arrowroot and salt. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and glossy*.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the gin.
  • Serve in a wine glass, top with whipped cream, crushed raspberry drops and shaved chocolate.

*Use a milk frother for a foamier mix
